I have alot to say, I even have 400 photographs to back my words up! I will though restrict myself to the following;
Shame on you YoHo, what a resort you are! We chose this hotel to stay at as it portrayed itself as a 'fun for all the family' place, no need to leave until it's time to go! We arrived at the resort and were quite impressed, water-slides, swimming pools, shops, choreographed events and a listing of restaurants that had the taste buds salivating! When we arrived we felt at home, the place lived up to expectations with a good room! It was when it came time to eat that life started to fall apart! There was only one restaurant open, a large and austere room that suggested that 'he who makes a noise will be evicted forthwith, a eating parlour that was designed for the old and established, not a gaggle of kids! My son prefers to eat on the move, to crawl under tables, to drive imaginary diggers over waiters hands, to speak his mind in a forceful way through blurbs and glurgs and to frequently spill drinks or drop food matter in his wake!
The other guests just looked at us in shock!
Then next day we decided that we would forsake this restaurant with its fixed menu and head off into town! It is only half an hour a way by bus!
Hmmmm, we won't be staying there again!
I must though thank Sam!
This fine gentleman works at the YoHo as a general doorman and butler to the austere! He helped us to acquire transport, he helped my wife relieve her frustrations by listening to her and he even went out of his way to buy some pineapple - the hotel did not have fruit for between set-meal eating!I suppose one aspect of the stay was not their fault. We had chosen the place with my son in-mind, water and sand being the highlights! But my son though decided that he no-longer liked water and never left the safety of the swimming pool edge and that the sand and thus the whole beach frightened him!
Upon our return to the big city of kaohsiung, prepared for another slog on the job front, I found two job-offers awaiting for me! The first involved a large dry-docking operation in Greenland and although seemingly "right-up-my-alley' I had to turn it down! I like a challenge but this was 'pull the mountain' type of an uphill climb! I attach a photograph that they sent to me!
The second offer involved the lengthening of a passenger ferry in Timbuctoo! Somebody had already done the ground-work by cutting it in half, I just had to piece it all together again! I had to turn this offer down too! The location was not suitable for a family; only next door lived a hundred rabid dogs, a pigeon farm and a main intercity motorway! I again append the photograph that they sent to me!
